CONVENIENCES AND COMMUNITY

Cafe

The charming town of New Prague has progressed with the latest culinary and brewing trends. Across the street from Bohemia Flats is an established brewery, perfect for gathering with friends. You can walk or bike down main street for a selection of local restaurants and bars. Or sip a local wine at the well-known vineyard just outside of town.

On the weekend, you can enjoy a cup of coffee at one of several local coffee shops and run your errands without leaving town. Or take a short drive to the Mall of America, Canterbury Downs, or a concert or big game in the Twin Cities.

New Prague is home to several city parks for a casual stroll. Outside of town, you’ll find larger county parks offering paddling, fishing, swimming, and all that nature has to offer. You also have your choice of golf courses, both in and out of town.

A TRADITION OF PROGRESS

Just 30 miles south of the Twin Cities, New Prague serves as a bridge between rural communities and the Twin Cities’ southwestern suburbs. It’s a vibrant community surrounded by nature and parks.

Initially called Praha, the village was incorporated in 1877 and was home to many Czech immigrants. In 1884, the village adopted the name New Prague. Today, the community still embraces the Czech heritage with community events, including Dožínky® Festival and Czech Out New Prague.
